The Senior DevOps Engineer reports to the Director of Product Cloud Technology Engineering. This position will work closely with other Product Cloud Engineers, including development, product, marketing, QA, and tech support teams, to deliver highly-performant, scalable, secure, and highly available cloud services utilizing industry best practices. A successful individual will demonstrate a passion for reliability, continuous improvement, and automation motivated to deliver results and work within the team’s processes, and, most importantly, deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Specific Responsibilities
· Design, document, implement, maintain, and support technology solutions that utilize best practices, including security and scalability, to deliver an exceptional customer experience
· Designs, configures, implements, and supports automated workflows for provisioning and maintaining a complex, highly available cloud using infrastructure as code
· Utilize tools to monitor, predict, and mitigate system issues
· Work within the team to improve our tools, making suggestions and improvements
· Emphasize automation to build a more available, reliable, and scalable platform
· Understands product, cost, and experience implications and trade-offs of implementing improved reliability, performance, scalability, and operational abilities
· Work closely with engineering and development teams utilizing DevOps methodologies and culture
· Make documentation a priority, enabling the team to share knowledge effectively and efficiently
· Provides regularly training on essential cloud technologies and capabilities to groups throughout the product development
· Mentors individuals and teams to continuously improve their cloud expertise
· Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in IT, software development, or system administration
· 5+ years of experience with Linux system administration in a production environment
· 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud system administration such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, ELB, Lambda, RDS, Route53, DynamoDB, CloudFront, CloudFormation, Kinesis, SNS, SES, CLI, EKS, ECS
· Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) platforms such as GitHub Actions
· Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
· Experience with infrastructure as code software such as Terraform
· Experience with version control such as GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket
· Experience monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as New Relic
· Experience with provisioning and managing SSL\TLS certificates
· Experience with scripting languages; such as Bash, Python, Ruby
· Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps methodologies and cultures
